EPWORTH CHILDREN’S HOME
For several years, Ebenezer UMC and Wampee UMC have donated mission money to continue the work of Epworth Children’s Home in Columbia, S.C.  Epworth provides services to address the individual needs of children in a faith-based setting.  Those services include an independent living program, a family care center, an early intervention center, and a foster care/adoption program.
Epworth depends on donations and fundraisers to continue its services and does not receive money from the South Carolina Conference.
On Monday, March 28th, the United Methodist Women of Ebenezer and Wampee churches hosted an inspiring and informative information night about the Epworth Children’s Home.  We were privileged to have Rosalie Bellamy, former Epworth resident, as our guest speaker.
Rosalie is married to Bill Bellamy, and they are longtime residents of Myrtle Beach.  They have three daughters and seven grandchildren.  Rosalie and Bill have been members of Christ United Methodist Church for 20 years, where they have served in the Celebrate Recovery program.  They also have been a part of the Seaside Emmaus community, a spiritual renewal program which hosts weekend retreats to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders.
During the months of March and April, Ebenezer UMC’s mission basket money and bake sale money will be collected for a May donation to Epworth.  Wampee UMC also will make a monetary donation to Epworth.
Here is a link to a video of Rosalie Bellamy’s visit to Wampee UMC. Very interesting information she presents.
